PES Update 2/13/12

Hi everyone!

We have our first social event this Saturday February 18th 6pm, in 330 SU. It will be a PES Movie night, if you would like to attend you MUST email Chris Robbins chrisrob@buffalo.edu by Thursday night at the latest. From there a survey will be sent out as to what movie we will be showing.

Inductees:
**If you were inducted this semester, or are still a pending member, your certificates and pins are finally IN!!! (As long as you paid dues, you receive a certificate and pin) Please bring photo ID and pick them up in 235 SU between 9 and 5, M-F.

Clothing orders have been placed. Please allow us about 3 weeks for them to come in, we will notify you once the orders are in.

Elections:
At our 3rd general meeting, April 11th, we will be having our elections for President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. After those positions are filled, they will conduct interviews for the following chair positions: Academic, Leadership, Fundraising, Community Service, Social, and Webmaster. If you are interested in any of these positions and have questions, feel free to email the current chair. More information on elections and interviews will come as it gets closer to April.

Scholarships:
-National: Unfortunately the National Scholarship is only open to executive board members. I am sorry for the confusion, keep this in mind when deciding whether to run for an office.
-Local: We offer 2 $300 scholarships to general members and 2 $300 scholarships to eboard members. The applications will be out later in the semester and the applications will be due in April (date TBD).

Remember all members are required to participate in 4 events and 1 fundraiser in order to stay an active member.

A lot of our events require a head count before hand or tickets to be bought before hand If you are saying that you are attending, please show up. If something comes up that you cannot attend, please email the chair and let them know, all of our emails are on our website ubpes.com. Also in order to get credit you MUST SIGN IN with an eboard member, we will try and be more specific with where we will be for the events. For the Life and Learning Workshops (leadership events), please sign up ASAP if you plan on attending as space is limited and we cannot guarantee you space.

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a great break & new year. We are still in the process of determing some of our events, but have secured times for our general meetings, leadership events and social events. These are listed below. Remeber all memebers are required to participate in 4 events and 1 fundraiser in order to stay an active member.

PES Update 12/5

Hope everyone is doing well as the semester comes to an end. Our event this week is our Toys for Tots drive, please bring in a toy (or 2) worth approximately $5-$10 to 235 SU by 5pm this Friday December 9th. Bringing in a toy will get you one community service credit, and if you need an additional credit you must bring in two. Make sure you sign your toys in on the sign in sheet. If you have been handing in bottle slips they also must be turned into 235 SU by 5pm December 9th. Please keep in mind the office is only open until 5pm during the week. If you have any questions or concerns about requirements and induction feel free to email me. Induction will take place on January 28th at noon in the Student Union Theater, so please mark your calendars if you are a pending member. More information will be sent out to members who have completed their requirements in the new few weeks.

Clothing orders – Due to a pricing conflict, we are suspending putting in the clothing order through until next semester. Orders can still be placed, using the printable order form, up to a week after inductions. For those of you who wish to withdraw your order, please email Jen at j484m@buffalo.edu, or with any further questions.

PES Update 11/14/11 (POTLUCK Week)

We have 3 events going on this week:
-Making Change When Change is Hard to Make- TODAY November 15th 5:30-6:30 in 235 SU, see previous emails for sign up information.
-THIS FRIDAY November 18th 7pm, POTLUCK Hadley Community Center *****MANDATORY FOR PENDING MEMBERS***** (see information below)
-SATURDAY November 19th will be the Buffalo Museum of Science guided tour 10am-1pm, we will meet at 9:30 am in the SU lobby. You must email Colleen (email below) by Thursday at 6 pm if you plan on attending. Cost will be $9.

Remember that we also have the Sabres Ticket Raffle & clothing orders (order form attached) that will be due THIS FRIDAY November 18th by 5 in 235 SU or can be handed in that night at the potluck (7pm). Sabres tickets can be picked up in 235 SU if you have not picked up any, they are $2 each or 3 for $5, and your are required to sell $20 worth for credit. Also please remember that the POTLUCK IS MANDATORY for all pending member and you are required to bring a side dish, this should not be a surprised we have talked about this many times. We will provide turkey and pasta with red sauce. If you are an active member that is attending you can bring a dessert. Weekly Update (10/10)

Hi all,

I promise this email is shorter than it looks so please read it all!

-We have solidified our Fundraising activities for this semester. We will be having a Sabres Ticket raffle (tickets are worth approx $250), Raffle Tickets will be $2 or, 3 for $5. ALL MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO SELL $20 WORTH OF TICKETS. This will be handed out at our second general meeting on October 27th. If you cannot make that meeting you can pick up the tickets in 235 SU in the following days. Tickets must be handed in (in 235 SU) by November 18th, if you are attending the potluck you can hand them in there. We will pick the winner of the raffle that night at the potluck. We will be tabling in the Student Union to sell more tickets, if you work the table you will recieve 1/3 of a credit (to be used towards the general meeting credits)- Date TBD.
-For additional credits (to fufill a miscellaneous requirement or to stay an active member) you can participate in our Bottle Drive. You have 2 options: If you turn the bottles in and get the slip, you only have to collect 100 bottles. But, if you turn the bottles in to us to deposit them, you have to collect 150 bottles.You can ONLY turn in the bottles at our General Meetings(MUST have your name and # of bottles on the bag). IF you have a slip, you can hand them in to SU 235 at any time. (At the desk in SU 235 there will be a piece of paper where you can put down your name,dollar amount, and email**please write legibly otherwise we may not be able to give you credit**)All bottles turned in must be able to get deposited, any other bottles or trash that can’t be returned will not be counted. You DO NOT need to bring all your bottles or slips in at the same time. Just make sure that you have the correct amount at the end.
